The Green Mountain Tiny House

Tucked away in a small town near the Green Mountains lies the most adorable tiny house vacation rental that exudes Vermont farmhouse luxury: The Green Mountain Tiny House. The home is owned by Wildwood Collective, a husband and wife duo that owns a curated collection of Airbnb rentals in Vermont. I’ve always wanted to stay in a tiny house, and this rental provided such a unique experience. In fact, this may have been my favorite Airbnb stay to date. 

The house is modern yet cozy, well-maintained, and beautifully designed. While some might question the lack of square footage, this tiny space is carefully laid out to maximize usability. It has everything you could need for a couple’s getaway weekend, including a full kitchen with a four-burner gas stove and oven, washer and dryer, electric fireplace and a bedroom loft with a queen mattress. On our second night in the house, we popped over to the local grocery store, D&K’s Grocery Store, and bought ingredients to make spaghetti and meatballs. The four-burner gas stove, farmhouse sink, and butcher-block countertops made it very convenient to cook a full meal.

If these amenities don’t sell you, the outdoor space will. The rental is located on the same property as Apple Blossom Cottage (another Airbnb owned by Wildwood Collective). The two homes share a driveway, but the Tiny House lodgers have access to their own separate outdoor space. The outdoor area is scenic and a great place to relax after dinner. String lights suspend from the trees right outside the front door, and to the side of the house is a small porch with two Adirondack chairs and a firepit. The hosts were kind enough to provide us with pre-cut wood so we could enjoy an evening bonfire. 

I would highly recommend this Airbnb to couples looking for a relaxing weekend away. My boyfriend and I visited the last weekend in October. Still, the house is in an ideal spot to lodge for late fall/early winter activities. We ate at a few local eateries and attempted a nearby Escape the Room, but the property is also a 20-minute drive from Stratton Mountain and Bromley Mountain for those who enjoy the ski bum life.

Honeypie

Ten minutes away from the Tiny House is an incredible burger joint located on Route 100 called Honeypie. The restaurant is a renovated gas station turned burger joint with the most delicious burgers. If burgers are not your thing, they also have handmade sausages, pork chorizo, hotdogs, veggie burgers and lobster rolls. Oh, and make sure to take a milkshake to go!

Ungrounded Coffee Roasters

Across the street from Honeypie is an excellent coffee joint called Ungrounded Coffee Roasters. The refreshing smell of roasting coffee hits you as soon as you walk through the door. The shop is cozy and has the most friendly owners. They have a wonderful collection of house-roasted beans to bring home. The iced maple latte is a must-try!

Johnny Seesaw’s

After an afternoon of skiing, nothing is more enjoyable than a hearty meal and a glass of wine near an open fire. If you decide to ski at Bromley Mountain, Johnny Seesaw’s is the perfect après-ski destination as it’s right down the road. The atmosphere is top-notch for a rustic Vermont setting with a vast, circular fireplace in the center. My favorite item on their menu is their House-Made Spätzle with sweet potato, kale, and mushrooms.

Vermont is so scenic this time of year. If you are looking for a weekend away to recharge, I highly recommend the Green Mountain Tiny House for your next stay.
